Tuesday Update 8 October 2024
Good news, everyone! As you’re watching this, the logistics team is picking up our stock and getting it ready for its plane trip to all of you! ✈️ This week has been a bit smoother than last, though we’ve definitely had our moments. It’s been all about getting the logistics team and the manufacturer to play nice—almost like making siblings get along, but we’re on the home stretch now, and we couldn’t be happier! 😅 Other than that, it’s business as usual. The whole team will be together this weekend to remap the website, give it a fresh new look, and put together a ‘how-to’ guide for the observatories! 📖 Thanks again for all your support and encouragement since you last saw us bright-eyed and ready to take on the world at NEAF. We’ve got a few more grey hairs now, but the beloved product is finally on its way to you! Talk to you all next week! 👋

“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford It's been a rough one! We hit a snag with our original freight transporter trying to charge some ridiculously high fees. But we saved the tents and now have a second company lined up. Fingers crossed next week we’ll have some great news that they’re actually on the plane! Meanwhile, Brendan’s been busy in the workshop making adapters to use with the SP3 for his own setup. If you’ve noticed some differences in the photos and videos, it’s because he’s using the industrial version—SP3.5. Onwards and upwards! They don’t call us Aussie battlers for nothing, and this week was definitely a battle. 💪
Tuesday Update 24 September 2024
This week has been full-on! We’ve handed over the Octans and Phoenix tents to logistics and are just waiting on tracking details. Dan and I spent the weekend at Pankee, capturing all the video content for the tent assembly guides—manuals will be available soon! We also made progress on the SP3, creating a custom fix for Steve’s 8-inch Quattro to complete testing. Plus, we’re excited to be working with a school on a 12-inch observatory project, where students will use the SP3 to capture stunning night sky shots. Busy times ahead!
