Brendan also shares updates from recent on-sky testing and what’s coming next as the year wraps up.

The Week That Was | 16 December – Shipping Update, SP3 Testing & New Moon Prep
This week’s update covers progress across shipping, testing and development at Starpoint Australis. The Octans and Phoenix portable observatories are currently at the port and being consolidated for shipment to the US, with updated timelines to be shared via email in the coming days. With the new moon weekend approaching, testing has continued on the SP3 and filter wheel using the William Optics MCRES, including custom adapter work to ensure correct spacing and integration. This phase of testing is now largely complete, allowing the first extended astrophotography sessions of the year to move ahead. The RC will also be heading out for field testing, with final firmware checks underway to confirm stable interaction with the ASCOM driver. Further updates will be shared as progress continues.

The Week That Was | 9 December – Manufacturing Update, Pre-Orders & SP3 Progress
A larger update this week covering manufacturing, pre-order timelines, SP3 driver development and project progress across the workshop. Stock is expected to be on the boat by the 16th, with pre-orders closing once this shipment is loaded. Brendan also revisits the RC rebuild, Dan completes major strides with Indy, Alpaca and ASCOM, and we look ahead to the new moon weekend.

Although this week’s update is short, there is significant progress happening behind the scenes as we continue preparing for the next stages of production.
